Remake and warranty policy

This policy covers every restoration and appliance made by Smilehub Dental Labs for a prescribing dentist. It is written to be read in two minutes. Where it says "you", it means the prescribing dentist or their practice.

What is covered

We warrant that each restoration or appliance is made to your prescription and is free from defects in materials and workmanship for the period below, measured from the invoice date.

• Crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays and veneers in zirconia, lithium disilicate, porcelain fused to metal or full metal: 5 years.
• Implant crowns, custom abutments and screw-retained restorations: 5 years. Acrylic on a hybrid: 30 days.
• Complete dentures and cast or acrylic partial dentures: 1 year.
• Flexible partial dentures: 6 months.
• Night guards, splints, retainers, temporaries and surgical guides: 30 days.
• Immediate dentures and immediate partials: adjustments only. They are not warranted, because the mouth they were made for changes as it heals.

Remakes at no charge

We remake at no charge, within 30 days of the invoice date, when the fault is ours:

• The restoration does not fit the model or the scan you sent.
• The shade differs from the shade on the prescription.
• A defect in the material or the workmanship.

Return the original restoration with the remake request. We cannot learn from a failure we never see.

Remakes that carry a charge

Within 30 days of invoice these are charged at 50% of the original invoice price. After 30 days they are charged at full price.

• You ask for a different shade than the one prescribed.
• The tooth was re-prepared, or the prescription or material changed after the case was sent.
• The restoration fits the model or scan but not the mouth. A remake then needs a new impression or scan.
• A removable was fabricated without a try-in after we advised one.

If the original is not returned

A remake requested without the original restoration is charged at full price. If the original reaches us within 60 days of the remake request, that charge is credited to your account.

What is not covered

• Damage from trauma, accident or misuse.
• Decay, fracture of the natural tooth, periodontal change, or a change in the bite.
• Bruxism where no guard was prescribed.
• Alteration or adjustment of the restoration by another laboratory or by the practice beyond normal seating.
• Accounts past due. The warranty is suspended while an account is more than 60 days past due and resumes when it is brought current.

What we do when a warranty claim is accepted

We repair or remake the restoration at no charge, or credit the original invoice price to your account. Shipping is not included. We do not reimburse chair time, patient compensation or any other indirect or consequential cost.

Adjustments

Minor adjustments to a restoration we made are done at no charge within 30 days of invoice when the restoration is returned to us.

Turnaround

Most cases return in about two weeks. A promised date on a rush case is a promise about our work, not about the carrier.

The words lawyers ask for

Each restoration is made to the specification and approval of the prescribing dentist, who remains responsible for its clinical suitability. Other than the warranty stated above, Smilehub Dental Labs LLC makes no other warranty, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Florida. We may revise this policy; each revision carries a new version and date, and a case is covered by the version in force on its invoice date.

How to start a remake or a warranty claim

Email cases@smilehubdentallabs.com or call (305) 317-2490 with the case number, what happened, and a photo if you have one. Do not include the patient's name. Send the original restoration back with the case number on the box.
